Various offers in 1st art activity to support Afrin’s liberation

Under the slogan “Struggle with Democratic Nation’s Principals to Liberate Afrin”, the Culture and Art Body organized on Wednesday in Berxwedan camp in al-Shahba canton the first artistic event to support Afrin liberation campaign.

Representatives of the Autonomous Administration, administrators and hundreds of people in Berxwedan camp in addition to the members of the Culture and Art Movement participated in the celebration.

The celebration started with holding a minute of silence. Then, the administrator in the Culture and Art Movement in Afrin Niyazi Sido delivered a speech and said, “The Turkish occupation army wanted during its attacks on Afrin to remove the Kurdish people’s identity, culture and heritage through destroying the historical and heritage places in Afrin.”

Sido added, “But the people did not allow that as they have resisted for 58 days on Afrin land, and they are still resisting in al-Shahba areas and in the camps.”

After that, the Heritage Band for the Kurdish folkloric dance in the Culture and Art Movement performed the Kurdish heritage dance.

While Rojava Band for singing offered a lyrical and theatrical performances about the bombardment to which the people of Afrin, especially the children were exposed and about the resistance shown by the people of Afrin against the occupation.

Avrînerê Hêviyê Band performed a play about the importance of unifying the society’s ranks to repel the enemy. Berxwedan Camp Band for singing performed a number of the revolutionary songs about Afrin resistance.

The activity ended with dancing in rings with the songs.

Furthermore, it is supposed that the series of the artistic activities will continue in a number of the districts of al-Shahba canton.
