Syriac Youth Union aims to develop society by young people

The Syriac Youth Union organized many activities aimed at the development of society. They worked to unify the ranks of the youth and accepted the ideologies of all the components. They sought to restore their culture which had been marginalized for thousands of years by the dictatorial regimes that ruled the area.

Because the youth category is the most important in society, as the society makes progress and develops with its youth, in addition to preserving the Syriac culture, language and educating the youth, the Syriac youth has formed their own union on 21 December, 2013, under the name of the Syriac Youth Union.

To learn more about the Syriac Youth Union and its work, ANHA news agency met with a member of the Syriac Youth Relations Association, Rami Issa, who stressed the importance of the unity of youth in society.

Issa explained that they are the Syriac Youth Union, whose main objective is to develop and organize youth work in society and to conjoin the largest number of young Syrians in order to raise awareness and educate them about their culture and civilization rooting back thousands of years BC.

The Union included all aspects of life from organizational and administrative to the declamation and defense art, as well as many activities and recreational camps for all ages that are in Syriac youth, the aim was to develop the work of the Syriac youth within the society and city.

The Union also worked to establish a football team, in addition to participating in all the holidays and celebrations organized by the Syriac component, in order to prevent the extinction of the Syriac culture and restore its lost luster as a result of the policies of marginalization practiced against them.

"Syriac-Assyrian-Chaldean culture is a mixture of several nationalities such as Syriac, Aramaic, Babylonian, Assyrian, Royal, Canaanite and Chaldean, which have been marginalized for thousands of years. Today, in the Syriac Youth Union, we seek to restore our culture and civilization through our young people, "He said.

At the end of his speech, Rami Issa said: "I turn to the Syrian people in general and to Syriac, especially as a Syriac youth, we aim to develop relations with the Syrian Democratic Councils and all youth groups in all the Syrian territories and are able to accept all the ideas of youth in our society, we call on all Syriac youth to conjoin the ranks of the Syriac youth who have united all the ranks of young people in society. "
