Al-Raqqa women are training how to use weapons

A number of women who are working in the civil institutions in al-Raqqa participated in the course of learning how to use weapons to defend themselves in the emergency situations.

A number of women who are working in the civil institutions in al-Raqqa received a training course about how to use weapons and the basics of self-defense.

After the end of the theoretical lessons, women received on Saturday exercises on how to break up and install weapons and throwing.

The member of the people’s municipality in Raqqa Aisha al-Ahmed who participated in the training course said, “We will benefit from the training to learn using weapons in the emergency situations.”

Iman Mohammed, the member of the Women Office in the municipalities said, “We have undergone to this training to break our fear. Carrying weapons and learning how to use them would not be dangerous. This is the first step of its kind for the women in al-Raqqa. Women must learn all aspects of life whether political or military, and all women in al-Raqqa city must break the barrier of slavery and free themselves from the authoritarian mentality.”
