PYD assured that Afrin liberation is priority, its support to al-Jazeera Tempest

The General Council of PYD held its 4th meeting, during which the developments witnessed in the area was discussed in addition to working out a plan for the next two months.

The council issued a statement regarding the meeting, and it included,

“The members of the General Council of our party held its fourth regular meeting of this year, and after holding a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs’ spirits, the agenda of the meeting was developed and the conferences campaign of the districts and canton in addition to the plans and views of the seven offices of our party; the Organization Bureau, the Women Bureau, the Youth Bureau, the Media Office, the Relations Office, the Research and Documentation Office and the Financial Office were discussed. Then, the participants discussed the political situation and the situations witnessed in the world, the area and Syria and their impact on the Syrian and Kurdistan national democratic issues, and the meeting ended with suggesting proposals by the offices and developing a plan of their works for the next two months.

Our party continues its organizational campaign to advance and develop its leading role in the democratic politics and the development of the organizational mechanisms within the democratic transition that took place in the tasks and functions of TEV DEM through its third conference, taking into account the plans and programs to achieve greater cohesion with the people and to struggle to represent its will in all respects so our party is witnessing many conferences in the towns and districts and the canton’s conference would be held before the end of this year.

The meeting called for the assertion that the liberation of Afrin from the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries comes at the forefront of the struggle priorities of our party, its supporters, all our Kurdish people in Syria and the secular democratic forces. Defeating the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries in Afrin is the beginning of the end of the Turkish occupying of various areas of Syria and at the same time reinforcing the democratic project and the achievements of the people's revolution in Rojava in July 19, 2012 with its various social configurations in the light of the international silence towards the hostile practices and the demographic change crime that Afrin region is exposed to.

The meeting affirmed and valued the step taken by the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) on September 6 to establish the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. It is also the step of the actual solution to the aspirations of the Syrian peoples, and it is an additional consolidation, in which all frameworks in the three Democratic Autonomous Administrations and the four civil councils are united in addition to devoting their respective privacy and culture.

The meeting expressed its support to the role of the tripartite defense played by the People Protection Units, Women Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces protecting the universal values ​​and promoting the world, Syrian and Kurdish peace. It also congratulated al-Jazeera Tempest campaign in its current stage on ending the existence of the terrorist organization of Daesh in Deir ez-Zor. In this step, the people of Syria become closer to the stage of preparing for the democratic solution to the Syrian crisis.

The meeting valued positively the two meetings held between the Syrian Democratic Council and the authority in Damascus, stressing that the dialogue and negotiation’s language is the way to solve the intractable crisis. Although the meetings have not so far progressed to the negotiation’s level, we express our support to these meetings positively for Syria to be a national and decentralized country. The solution is related primarily to the preservation of Syria’s union and sovereignty and the transition from a centralized system to a decentralized and democratic one.

The meeting concluded that the liberation of Idlib which is invaded by Jabhet al-Nusra terrorist organization and its armed gangs comes in an endless series related to the so-called the religious treaty. This liberation must be unrelated to the empowerment of any political past project.

The meeting stressed the need for our party to play an effective role overcoming the objections of the Kurdistan National Convention, especially that holding such conference comes to achieve the desire of our people to unite the efforts of all Kurdish parties and forces and the democratic forces in the area to achieve security and stability in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey and the area. The resolution of the Kurdish Cause has become the key to the democratization and stability in the Middle East.

Finally, our party valued the security, stability and co-existence we enjoy in Rojava and North and East of Syria. Furthermore, the attempts that target this advanced situation must be repelled firmly. We call on our people to stand against all those who want to undermine our national unity and the gains of our people that have been achieved thanks to thousands of martyrs.”
