IS mercenaries exploded oil pipeline in Kirkuk province in northern Iraq this morning. The commander of the Kurdish security forces "Asayiş" in the area, Idris Refaat, said that the crude oil pipeline in Kirkuk was detonated by two explosive devices and pointed out that the fire was still burning  and has not been extinguished yet.

He said that the Iraqi police have not yet fully controlled the area, which allows the IS mercenaries  hiding in the mountains to attack the oil installations from time to time.

In late 2017, Iraq announced the elimination of IS in Iraq, with the exception of some positions in the desert.
