Human Rights Office demanded Iranian authorities to back down Banahi’s execution

The Human Rights Office in al-Jazeera issued a statement in which it condemned the death sentence against the Kurdish activist and politician Ramin Banahi and called on the Iranian authorities to back down from this death sentence.

The statement noted,

"At the time when the struggle of the Middle East’s people and all the peoples of the world is escalating for freedom, democracy and human rights and what they included of the international laws and treaties to support the public freedoms of individuals and human groups, wars and conflicts have broken out in the Middle East acting for the authoritarian regimes which stand in the way of the aspirations and hopes of these peoples for freedom, democracy and the decent life.

Where Iran is considered one of the most powerful regimes that stand in the face of changes, especially the peaceful movement of their peoples from Persians, Kurds, Arabs, Azerbaijanis, etcetera, and deal with them using the most severe sanctions. This is a violation of the international laws that protect the human rights. The gallows’ ropes are still hung in the public squares in front of the Iranian peoples, and the Iranian regime does not take into account the internal crisis at the political, social, economic, humanitarian and legal levels. Iran is among the countries that issue the death penalty as it issued the death penalty against the Kurdish political activist Ramin Hussein Banahi. Banahi was transferred to another prison in preparation for carrying out the execution of the death penalty against him violating all the international laws, covenants and conventions despite the international, regional and popular appeals the demand to stop the death penalty.

We condemn this criminal act against the activist Ramin and dozens of his comrades and demand the Iranian authorities to cancel the death penalty and to not carry out it against their citizens."
