Most international resolutions applied, with Kurds' rights, they turn blind eye!

According to internationally-recognized resolutions, any deliberate attack, demolitions and vandalism of archaeological and historical sites in the area is considered a war crime in accordance with Resolution No. 23/47. However, these decisions are not applied against Turkey when targeting the Kurds and their history.

The Supreme Constitutional Court of Turkey, in a session on January 18, resolved on submerging the historical village of Hasan Kief in Batman in Bakur Kurdistan, after a controversy of about 13 years, where it agreed to establish Elso dam and the establishment of a hydroelectric station in the area, where the Turkish President Erdogan put in 2006, when he was (prime minister) the cornerstone of the project of the Elso dam, with the aim of obliterating, and removing all monuments related to the Kurds.

The history of Hasan Keif village of Batman city in Bakur Kurdistan (north Kurdistan) is about 10,000 years old, and it takes its name from the carved houses in the rocks. Hassan Keif village was declared a protected area in 1981 and has many monuments, notably the Hassan Keiff castle which was one of the two castles seized by the Byzantine Emperor Constantine when he entered Amed city.

The Turkish state, through the construction of Elso dam, is trying to destroy the village and create an environmental disaster in the area and its historical heritage, especially village of Hasan Kief, along with the displacement of more than 50,000 people.

On the elimination of the history of the city of Hasan Kief of Kurdistan by the Turkish state, Deputy Chairman of the co-chair for Tourism and Antiquities in the al-Jazeera canton Rustem Abdo talked to ANHA agency, "not only the village of Hasan Kief is threatened by submerging and erasing, there are 780 archaeological sites, 1,500 historic building in Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey threatened to destruction as a result of building 22 dams by the Turkish state on the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. "

Elso dam is a destruction of the archaeological monuments and a danger to the ecosystem

"The Turkish state is no longer interested, even though the area has a history and ancient monuments," he said.

Rustam Abdo explained that the construction of the dam will bring a danger to the ecosystem in the area, and will extinct many species of animals that are rare in Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey.

"The Turkish state claims that it built the dam for economic reasons, but most of its motives are political and reprisal of the Kurdish people, and through the construction of dams control Tigris and Euphrates rivers and cut off water of resources from the entire region, whether in Syria, Iraq or Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey, and hide the history of ancient Mesopotamia area.

The co-chair of the Tourism and Archeological Body in al-Jazeera canton Rustam Abdo said, "The competent bodies concerned with archaeological affairs, led by UNESCO to protect the world heritage, must intervene immediately and urgently to prevent a real disaster in the village of Hasan Kief village and stop the projects created by the hostile Turkish state of the heritage and history of the area".

Rustam Abdo said that the UNESCO did not dare to do anything towards the practices of Turkish state in Hasan Kief village,even when the Turkish occupier attacked Afrin city by planes and destroyed many archaeological sites, including the ancient Ain Dara temple on the UNESCO list, without any response
