500 members from North Syria participate in TEV-DEM conference

The third conference began at 9:30 on Monday morning at Aram Tikran Hall for Art and Culture in Rumailan town in Qamishlo canton. The conference hall was decorated with banners with "The thought and philosophy of the leader Ocelan are the path of the people's freedom. Afrin's liberation is our first goal. The Free woman is the guarantee of the democratic society. The youths are a vanguard force to protect and develop the values of society" written on.

The third conference of TEV-DEM was attended by co-chair of al-Jazeera region Hamidi Daham al-Hadi, The co-chair of the Executive Body in al-Jazeera region Abdul Karim Sarokhan with a delegation of the Autonomous Administration, The co-chair of the Future  Syria Party Ibrahim Qaftan and the General Secretary of the party Hafrin Khalaf, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party Shahuz Hassen, a delegation from the al-Raqqa Civil Council, a delegation from al-Tabqa Civil Council, the co-chair of the Constituent Council of the Democratic North-Syria Federation of Syria Mansour Salloum, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Amina Omar, the member of the Political Committee of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Hikmat Habib, a delegation from Kongra Star, the co-chair of the Executive Council in Kobani Council Anwar Musallam, the representative of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) of Russia Rudy Othman, the co-chair of the Executive Body of (SDC) Elham Ahmed, the counselor for DAA Mazkin Ahmed, and the representatives of a number of political parties and civil society institutions.

The conference was launched with a minute silence, followed by the speech of the co-chair of the Executive Body of TEV-EDM delivered by Eldar Khalil and Asia Abdullah, as it included the movement's vision on all global and regional issues and the Syrian crisis in particular.

The co-chairs of the Executive Body of TEV-DEM has stressed the necessity of transition, "The transition to a social organization protects the rights and freedoms, and cuts off the way for any comprehensive authoritarian ideology." The co-chairs said, "TEV-DEM supports with all means to turn SDC into a platform with the largest spectrum of the specters of the Syrian opposition."

After finishing the words, telegrams of congratulations were read which arrived to the conference by the political parties and organizations, Rojava Youth Union, the civil society’s organizations and the local administrations in North Syria. The telegrams confirmed that TEV-DEM, during its struggle since the beginning of 2011, managed to organize the society in North Syria and proved to be capable of finding a solution to the Syrian crisis.

The conference’s program

According to sources from inside the conference, the agenda of the conference includes reading the report of TEV-DEM, the proposals, the draft of the document of TEV-DEM, electing the administration of the movement, the oath and the final statement.
