Despite disability, she undertook effective role in family, society

Hajar Hamza Mohammed, from the village of 'Akkar, north of Tel Barak, 8 km, 35 years old, suffered from a disability in her left foot, making it difficult for her to learn in schools like other girls. She belongs to a family of 13 people, 7 girls and 6 boys.

Hajar decided to be a woman with no role in the society, what urged her to overcome her handicap was her strong will, in addition to the difficult financial situation of her parents, so she learned from her father how to use the sewing machine and cut cloth in 2002. She developed her own efforts, In front of them and then you make a template for the dresses, and then the process of cutting and sewing.

Hajar Hamza now designs and sews all kinds of traditional Arab folk costumes and dresses for the people of Tel Barrak, in addition to putting her own costume in each dress.

Will stronger than physical disability

Hajar initially encountered difficulty in the process as a result of her handicap, but she overcame it. Most of these difficulties were that she did not undergo a special training course in tailoring, and it was difficult to measure the sizes of the clients, but she overcame all these difficulties with her own strong will. She is now one of the best designers of Arabic heritage dress and dresses for women of the region.

Hajar Hamza believes that her work is a real achievement, as she overcame her physical handicap and helped to raise her family's economic status.

Hajar often sews children's clothes and household furnishings.
