People's Municipality meets service works in Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood

The People's Municipality in Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood of Aleppo continues its work on the daily maintenance and rehabilitation of the residents, Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood which suffered from frequent attacks and loss of life, witnessed a large burdens and responsibilities on People's Municipality

Electricity crisis:

With the return of safety to the neighborhood, the people return to their homes, and the increasing numbers of people led to a shortage of electricity, accordingly, the residents applied to the municipality to resolve this problem, in response to the demands of the residents, the Electricity Committee of the People's  Municipality operated nine electricity generators distributed throughout the neighborhood, bringing the number of generators in the neighborhood to 28 generators enough to meet the needs of 8,000 families.

The head of the Electricity Committee in the People's Municipality Ziad Hassan reported that the Electricity Committee consisting of 30 workers trying to fill the shortage of electricity and confirmed that the Committee was able to secure 95% of the need of the neighborhood.

Repair of water networks in the neighborhood

Water networks in Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood were severely damaged during the war by the mercenaries, water leakage has become a threat to the collapse of buildings so the workers of water committee which is of 9-members, divided into two teams, have been repairing damaged water systems for a week.

The supervisor of the water networks maintenance committee in the People's Municipality Mohammed Suleiman confirmed that they have responded to the complaints of the parents and are now a plan of action may take a long time to end after the great damage to the networks.

Patch the main streets with an alternative to asphalt

Due to the digging and damage to the roads, the municipal committees work to patch the main streets and repair the bumps and drilling through the restoration of the drilling by lifting the dirt and stones from the holes and fill them with concrete slabs instead of asphalt.

So far they have been able to repair and plant 300 meters of the main streets of the neighborhood.

Renovation of drawings on the garden walls

In order to restore joy to the faces of the neighborhood's children, the municipality has begun renovating the walls of Aren Merkan Park located in the eastern part of the neighborhood, the walls are decorated with cartoon drawings and expressions in bright colors.
