Childcare contributes in reducing burden of working mothers

Many women work in Kobanî canton in various civil and service institutions of the Autonomous Administration, but women mothers suffer from several problems, including taking care of children during the working hours. In order to reduce this problem and alleviate the burdens of working women, the Women's Body in Autonomous Administration in Kobanî canton has since 19 July 2016 opened a kindergarten in the name of the martyr Rimas in the center of Kobanî city

Kindergarten does not only accept the children of working women of Autonomous Administration, but it also receive the sons of all the working women in various fields.

With the start of the kindergarten, 25 children were received, and this number has now increased to 80 children. This indicates the increase in the number of working women and the strengthening of their role in various social and service fields, and contributes significantly to the provision of living expenses.

The kindergarten is staffed by 16 women who supervise children during the working hours from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, the nursery receives children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years.

Nursery supervisor Nawroz Abdi told Hawar news agency that the purpose of the opening of the nursery is to reduce the burden on working mothers, thus enhancing their role in the fields in which they work.

She confirmed that the supervisors on the nursery are concerned about the health of children and therefore the parents should not send their children to the nursery while they are infected with the usual infectious diseases until recovery, and contact with parents in the event of a child's illness.

Abdi also confirmed that the span of ​​the center is now small and does not accommodate more children, and said that there are efforts to find a larger place to accommodate the largest number of children.
