Sherko Hasaka: We captured some mercenary cells, campaign continues

During a special statement to Hawar news agency, the leader of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Sherko Hasaka, said, "al-Jazeera Tempest campaign continues with all its strength and the forces continue to move towards the last whereabouts of IS mercenaries east of the Euphrates River.”

Sherko pointed out that the progress is in coordination with the Iraqi forces stationed on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Sherko noted out that the special forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces continue to comb the villages from IS mercenary cell, the engineering teams are working to clean up the liberated areas of mines planted by IS mercenaries, especially the villages on the banks of the Euphrates River, such as Bibian, Shehil, Hawayj villages and other newly liberated villages from IS mercenaries.

The leader Sherko Hasaka said the forces managed to arrest a large number of mercenary cells after combing the newly liberated areas.

Sherko confirmed that the arrests included mercenaries of Jabhit al-Nusra, noting that these operations are carried out in coordination with the Internal Security Forces, the Special Forces (HAT), the Anti-Terror Units (YAT) and the International Alliance.
