Jihad Hamdoush is a 69-year-old poet from Kherbit ​​Şêra village of Şêra district. He is married and has three children, he and his wife now live in Ziyara village of ​​Şêrawa district after their displacement with hundreds of Afrin residents following attacks by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on the canton

He learned his native language in the 1970s

In his attempt to learn his mother tongue under the influence of smearing, Hamdouch bought a radio to listen to the Kurdish-language Kurdish (Yerevan) radio station in 1963. He also read some Kurdish-language publications where he learned the Kurdish language and its rules to become later a teacher for the Kurdish language.

During the period of compulsory service, he was kept on teaching the Kurdish youth the Kurdish language in secret despite security risks.

He began writing poetry in 1991

Hamdoush began to write poetry in the Kurdish language at the end of the 1980s, influenced by what were subjected against the Kurdish people, especially in Başûr, of massacres, genocide and mass exodus, especially after Halabja massacre, which led to the deaths of more than 5 thousand civilians as a result of the bombing of the city by the Baathist regime in Iraq with chemical weapons.

The first poem by poet Jihad Hamdoush was the poem "ziyana Helebçe" which he delivered to the public during the celebration of Nawroz in 1991 in Afrin.

He taught 6 students in a village that was under shelling

After the 19 July revolution, mercenary gavgs attacked Qastal Jendo village in Şêra district in 2013, as the village was witnessed violent shelling, Jihad, on his initiative, taught 6 of the village's children the first level of the Kurdish language under bombardment, the students then passed the tests and succeeded with excellent degrees, they became teachers of the Kurdish language, and he continued in teaching the children in other villages such as Kherbit Şêra and Qatma, which belong to Şêra district.

He collects all his poems and print them in three groups

Jihad has written dozens of poems in Kurdish on various subjects, particularly on the issue of the Kurdish people and their struggle for freedom. He collected and printed his poems in three poetic collections called "kew u kewgirvan- banga welat- bihara gelan".

After the Turkish occupation of Afrin, he became the voice of resistance

Fadia Birm, the wife of the poet Jihad Hamdoush and the Kurdish language teacher, talked about his role in teaching their children to read and write in Kurdish. "After our marriage, my husband taught the Kurdish language 16 years ago, through Othman Sabri's book. Because we were afraid that the children would talk about the subject in school, and the information reaches the Baathist regime, after I learned the Kurdish language and my children, we taught them their mother tongue and made them talk everywhere.
