Small shop preserves Kurdish identity from loss

In his little shop Hamza collected pieces of Kurdish heritage, each of which had a happy story or a sad story transmitted by the grandchildren of the parents and grandparents.

Hamza Mohammed Ali is a citizen living in al-Mufti neighborhood in the city of al-Hasakah in al-Jazzera region over the age of 50 years.

Hamza Mohammed Ali feared the disappearance and loss of Kurdish culture because of the people of his society from the ruling regimes of ethnic and cultural oppression found in his profession a sanctuary that protects the Kurdish personality from loss.

He spent five years collecting rare pieces of utensils known to be manufactured in the Kurdish region of Lizin by his shop, which has become a shorthand for an old Kurdish house.

As for the places where these tools were collected, they are not confined to al-Jazzera region but also to Basur Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Region, not to mention the rest of the regions of Rojava .

It is worth mentioning that the entire Middle East region is witnessing a cultural war aimed at peoples who are under the conspicuous collusion of the States and authorities that make up this region. Some see such cultural contributions as small and set an example to preserve a deeply rooted heritage of human civilization.
