Al-Hasakah people complain about problems of private generators

Al-Hasakah city is one of the largest cities in al-Jazeera region, with a population of nearly 500 thousand people and after the outbreak of fighting in the area about 200, 000 have been forced to displace to al-Hasakah city, al-Hasakah city consists of 3 main sections (eastern, western, and southern). The eastern side consists of 8 neighborhoods (al-Mufti, Khashman, al-Salihiya Shamali, al-Salihiya Janobi, Taleaha, al- Azizya, al-Hara , al-Masakan). The western side consists of four neighborhoods (Tel -Hajar, Nasiriyah, Kalasheh and Musheirefa). The southern side consists of five neighborhoods (Nashwa sharqi, Nashwa Garbi, al-Zohour neighborhood, Ghurayan, Al-Zuhour, and Lailiya). The city has about 4,000 generators, 90 percent of which are private generators and 10 percent belong to associations

According to the information obtained from al-Hasakah city's people that they are suffering from the problem of electricity that they get through these generators. Al-Hasakah people are criticizing private generators’ owners because of the low operating span, not operating during the water supplying hours, the delay in repair of generators that suffer malfunctions, after the power outage during the day, the owners of generators do not compensate for those hours. On this subject, the Generators Committee said that parents should inform us of any violation of laws by generators to solve the problem.

- The generator operating system does not change between summer and winter.

One of the problems experienced by al-Hasakah city's neighborhoods when the public electricity cuts off during the day is that they do not cover generators' operating hours.

"We have been out of power for 24 days"

Al-Salihiya neighborhood suffers from the problem of power cuts, the citizen whose name is Firiya Sheikhmos said, "The generator has been disrupted several times before and we have repaired it ourselves, but this time, it requires expensive expenses and we do not have potential to repair it. “Sixty houses in the neighborhood suffer from power cuts since about a month.” Said Firiya

"We hope that the Economic Committee will assist the commune"

On the issue of the neighborhood of Salihiya al-Janubi, a member of the Generators Committee Mustafa Ali Hassan, they have intervened to solve the problem of obstruction generator and said, "We want to get rid of generators and make all special generators linked to the associations because the owners of private generators control the people. As for al-Salihiya neighborhood, we asked the Economic Committee to help the commune by 60%, but said that it can help only 30% and the commune can pay one million liras. We hope that the Economic Committee will help us and assist the commune.”

"We have been suffering from power outages since the 20th of Ramadan"

The neighborhood of Salihiya al-Shamali is no better than the others. The resident Issa Chalabi Dawod, a resident of the neighborhood, said that the generator that supplied them with electricity has broken down since the 20th of Ramadan, two months ago, we had a power outage and even before it broke down, the problems caused by the generator caused many electrical appliances to break down in our homes, the electricity was not getting well and they were forcing us to pay the costs. "Now they are say they will bring in a new generator but the neighbors object because of its noise.

A member of the Generators Committee, Farhan Dawood, appealed to the residents to inform them of any violations committed by the owners of the generators and concluded by saying, "We have received many complaints so far, the monitoring committees take care of it and hold the violators accountable. People must cooperate with us to solve problems.
