Emad Dawoud: Democratic nation is optimal solution to preserve unity of Syrian lands

Hawar news agency met the co-chair of al-Shaba Canton Council Emad Dawoud to talk about the efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis and the efforts of some parties to achieve their interests at the expense of the Syrian people.

During his speech, Dawoud touched upon the beginnings of the Syrian crisis, and he said that the regional and international forces have intervened into the Syrian affairs since the beginning of the crisis, and tried to nurture sectarian and religious strives to pave the way for the intervention into Syria and achieve their economic and political interests.

After seven years of the Syrian crisis, foreign countries such as Turkey, Iran, Russia and America intervene in the Syrian crisis to achieve their interests in the Middle East, and these countries directly and indirectly control parts of Syria.

Dawoud pointed out that the Syrian people have no word on the solution of the Syrian crisis, but the external countries are the controlling the fate of the Syrian people, especially countries such as Iran, Russia and Turkey which sponsor the meetings of Astana.

Dawoud touched upon the agreements that have taken place in Astana, especially with regard to de-escalation zones and said, "These policies and agreements aim at displacing the people of Syria from their lands, and the occupation of part of the lands of Syria by the Turkish state."

The democratic nation project is the alternative solution

Dawoud said that the alternative solution to stop the efforts to divide Syria is the democratic nation's project, "The alternative solution is the project of the democratic nation adopted by the people of northern Syria because the states tried to divide the Syrian people on sectarian, national and religious grounds so that they could intervene into the Syrian affairs."

Dawoud added, "The project of the democratic nation is the only way to preserve the unity of the Syrian lands and preserve the components of the Syrian people, and this project is the basis of protecting the area from sedition and attacks that the area witnessed."

At the end of his speech, Dawoud said that the democratic nation's project seeks to build a democratic regime on all Syrian lands. This regime includes all the components of the Syrian people; Kurds, Arabs and Turkmens because the foreign countries cannot solve the Syrian crisis.
