Abductees are at risk, Turkey strikes population structure in Janders

Janders district is located 20 kilometers west of Afrin city, in the north surrounded by Mobata and the south by Idlib city, and the west by Amanus and Turus mountains in Bakur (north Kurdistan) and east by Afrin city. The history of modern Janders dates back to 1750, where the first two families inhabited the name Çeqeli or Çepi, then several other families came and settled in. All these families lived near the center of Janders which was called the old Janders or al-Hara al-Tahtanyia.

The southern neighborhood is considered the center of Janders district and the number of houses exceeds 400 houses, all of them are indigenous residents and the homes had existed since more than 200 years old. In addition to that, the lane is adjacent to the archaeological site: Janders hill, in the neighborhood, Kurds beside a small proportion of the Arab component live.

People in the neighborhood has been living with each other for hundreds of years. During the period of the Syrian regime (Baathist), the regime tried to create sedition between the people of the neighborhood through its infiltrators, but found no benefit in it.

The Turkish occupation army has closed all roads leading to the neighborhood and the occupation put the earthmounds in the main and subsidiary streets (the entrances and exits of the neighborhood) and left a single crossing on the road leading to Tel-Silor.

A number of mercenaries are carrying out deliberate searches, in a move to extort the people of the neighborhood, not to mention the kidnappings and the theft of people's property at the crossing for no apparent reason.

Turkish occupation had brought bulldozers to the neighborhood, causing massive destruction to civilians’ homes, as well as theft of all the vehicles and the contents of the houses.

Another source from the neighborhood also reported that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries haphazardly kidnap civilians (the elderly, the young and even women). In a short period of time, the Turkish occupation abducted dozens of young men, their status is still anonymous.

The source stated that the health condition of each of them is "Mustafa Sheik Haider is infected and suffers from asthma and shortness of breath, Nihad Sheikh Haider suffers from shortness of breath because he had a stroke a while ago and they are siblings from Hasskah's family and Abdo Khalil suffers from shortness of breath and acute infections in the chest. The source appealed to human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene to release them because of the deterioration of their health.

The women took to the streets in a protest on Saturday in front of the Kaymakam in order to release the kidnapped, but the occupation has intervened and attacked the women protesters who had carried banners with phrases written on: (we reject insult, yes to peace, we reject humiliation, we reject injustice, where is justice, we want detainees’ release).

Since Turkey and its mercenaries’ aggression on Afrin area, the fate of hundreds of young men, women and the elderly remains unknown, not to mention the looting and theft of civilians’ property.
