Israel drove back civilians fleeing al-Qunitera

Dozens of civilians from al-Quneitra area near Jolan heights fled on Tuesday to the Israeli border fence to escape the military operations that are carried out by the Russian-backed regime, while Israel refused to shelter them and warned them not to approach.

Dozens of Syrians approached the Israeli border fence on Jolan heights on Tuesday, trying to escape the attack launched by Russian-backed regime forces before returning home after Israeli troops warned them.

The Syrians who approached the border fence at a distance of about 200 meters stopped before the Israeli officer ordered them to return.

The crowd of women and children slowly went back towards the camp. Some of them stopped in the middle of the road and waved with white fabrics at the border.

After the Syrian regime extended its almost complete control over the southern area of Daraa which benefited from the agreements that Russia had held with the armed groups, a new front was opened on Sunday in al-Quneitra governorate, adjacent to the contact line with al-Jolan heights.

Tens of thousands of Syrians arrived in an area close to the border with al-Jolan heights last month to escape the attack that enabled the regime forces to restore most of the south-west lands.
