MSD held its 1st meeting after its 3rd conference

The meeting which was held at the headquarters of MSD in Ain Issa district of Girê Spî / Tal Abyad canton, was attended by the majority of the council members elected during the 3rd  conference as well as the newly elected co-chair, Ryad Derrar and Amina Omar.

MSD held its 3rd conference in al-Tabqa northern city in Syria yesterday, where it presented visions for a future solution to the Syrian crisis, and the election of a new co-chairs of the Council.

We are in a critical stage and we need to make more efforts

The activities of the meeting began with delivering a speech to the joint presidency of MSD, Ryad Derrar, in which the 3rd  conference of the council was held. He pointed out that they are in front of a pivotal stage in Syria and requires to make more efforts in the next stage.

Derrar who was born in Deir ez-Zor  in northeastern Syria, stressed that MSD must open branches in all Syrian cities and areas.

Postponement of appointing the members of the Presidential Council

This was followed by the reading of the names of the 91 members of the Presidential Council elected by the Joint Presidency of the Council, Amina Omar, but it was recognized during the third conference that the number of current members will be reduced by 50% with representatives of independent parties and parties and political alliances within the council, in order to activate the role of the council more.

After extensive discussions and divergent views between attendees, it was proposed to postpone the appointing of the members of the Presidential Council to a maximum of two weeks, through the continuation of the joint presidency and the Executive Body of the Council with the members.

Add a new item to the outputs of the work of the Presidential Council

After that, suggestions were read about the work of the presidential system of the Presidential Council which was recognized as part of the outcomes of the third conference which consists of 8 items. After discussions, another item was added to the proposed decisions which states that the membership door is open to the missing components within the council and tribes in the areas recently liberated.

While the two parties agreed to postpone the ratification of the terms of work of the Presidential Council to the next periodic meeting, after the confirmation of members of the Presidential Council.

The nomination was then opened for membership of the Executive Boady of the council. 18 persons were nominated and at least 7 members of the boady were elected through the approval of the names during the next periodic meeting.
