Al-Hoss Municipality provided necessary services, plans for future projects

The people’s municipality opened in al-Hoss town of al-Raqqa eastern countryside on 24/12/2017 to provide services to the people of the town, as the committees were formed for each committee to carry out a specific service. The committees are the Services Committee and Supply Control, the Technical and Relations Office and the Environment and Parks Office.

In the beginning, the municipality repaired drinking water pumps which are the lifeblood of the citizens. It also provided drinking water to about 75% to al-Hoss town and the houses that did not have water. The municipality distributes water to them through water tanks.

While the service office worked on the removal of rubbish which was distributed randomly throughout the town, and collected it in a place allocated as a dump for waste away from residential areas. The machineries of the municipality work on a daily basis to collect and remove rubbish from the town.

In addition to the work of the municipality’s committees, the Service Office in coordination with the Technical Office in al-Hoss Municipality completed the rehabilitation of Khas Alej Bridge on the road of al-Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.

And among the works of the Control and Supply Office is that they make tours in daily rounds of shops, confiscate the corrupted and expired materials, control the prices and unify them in the shops, and supervise the work of the bakeries.

While the Technical Office works to grant building permits to citizens and facilitate their construction in accordance with the laws complemented in the north of Syria.

The Electricity Office worked on repairing the 20 kW line, repairing Milaj Station, connecting the electric current to the water pumps in the area and working to reach electricity to the homes of the residents in the town.

On the work of the municipality’s committees and their future plans, the co-chair of people’s municipality Terad Suleiman said to ANHA agency, "We are studying all the parks of the town and we are preparing to plant them and build a wall to protect the trees around the gardens. In our work plans also include paving and restoring the public and agricultural roads in addition to coordinating with The Education Committee for the opening of literacy courses in the area, rehabilitating a kindergarten for children and working on the opening of a medical clinic to serve the people.
