Al-Mashi: Targeting civilians in Manbij indicates enemy parties’ weakness

Hawar news agency met al-Bobna clan's sheikh and the co-chair of the Legislative Council in Manbij Farouq al-Mashi to talk about the attacks launched by some parties on Manbij city and targeting the civilians.

Al-Mashi pointed to many agreements about Manbij since the beginning of the Syrian revolution and the revolutionary movement for the importance of its strategic position, and to the practices of IS mercenaries against the people during its occupation in 2014. Al-Mashi said, "When security found in Manbij after it has been liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from IS mercenaries, the Internal Security Forces were established which prompted the people to return to the city and live freely in addition to building a new system for the city based on the democratic thought."

Al-Mashi said that the regime which was found in Manbij, and which all components participated in made many parties hostile to the democratic system such as the Euphrates shield and other parties seek to thwart this project, undermine co-existence and destabilize the city's security and safety through threats to enter the city and try to create sedition among the people. Al-Mashi said in this regard, "We assure the mercenaries who work in the service of the external agendas that they have not reached their goals. All these attacks will not change the stability of our strength and our people in Manbij, and we will work until we build a country free of terrorism."

On the recent bombings that have targeted the demonstrators who came out to denounce the threats of the Turkish occupation in al-Haiya town, Farouq al-Mashi said, "This bombing is sabotage and is considered weakness and bankruptcy of those parties politically and militarily in Manbij, so they target the civilians. We condemn this bombing. Manbij is strong with its people."

Al-Mashi pointed out that Manbij has an active role in the regional and international policies and has taken attention. He pointed out that AKP which failed in Afrin is trying to cover its failure by occupying Manbij. Al-Mashi continued, "From whom they liberate Manbij? Do they liberate it from its people? Manbij Military Council is managing the city."

Al-Mashi concluded, "We are the people of one country and we stand together against all the schemes that are being waged against our homeland. We must avoid carrying arms. Our aim is always to carry the pen and to be provided with free science and thought which determine the fate of the peoples. We do not want a gun that is not a solution to the Syrian crisis."
