Many projects are within al-Kasra municipality

The people's municipality related to Deir ez-Zor Civil Council in al-Kasra is striving to provide services to the people, despite their limited capabilities and the lack of the organizations’ support. In the few months after its activation, the municipality completed many works in the service of the people of the area and it is preparing to complete many projects to serve the area.

Since the re-activation of the people's municipality in al-Kasra area on May1 of this year, the municipality has worked on several projects and works servicing the people of the area according to the available potentials.

The municipality has firstly set up committees for monitoring and organizing the works. The municipality consists of the Control Committee to monitor the markets and control the prices and safety of foodstuffs and the Cleanness Department, in addition to other departments that work within the municipality to serve the people of the area.

The municipality worked on restoring al-Kasra Square and painting sidewalks and shops to restore the area's splendor again after the darkness of IS mercenaries. The municipality opened the closed roads as a result of the accumulation of dust and dirt in the main and sub streets.

The municipality has covered trenches dug by IS mercenaries between the streets in al-Kasra area. The municipality launched a campaign to spray insecticides in homes and public facilities to eliminate insects and pests. The Municipality also rehabilitated the water wells in al-Kasra to irrigate the gardens.

Gheyath al-Ajil, the head of al-Kasra municipality noted, "We intend to establish an agricultural nursery, a sport playground and a sheep market, while we seek to reforest the gardens, and we appeal to the organizations to provide them with support so that we can do the best to serve the community."
