Kongra Star started preparations for its 2nd conference

The Star Union was established on 15/1/2005 with the aim of organizing women and fighting for the realization of their rights and activating their role in all spheres of life. On February 25-26 /2016, the Union held its 6th conference which was considered the first conference of Kongra Star. At this conference, the name of the Union was changed to "Kongra Star ". The first conference was held in Rumailan, in al-Jazeera region and participated by 251 members of Rojava cantons, in addition to representatives of the Union in Damascus and Lebanon, in addition to a number of guests representing various political parties and gatherings and organizations. The meetings discussed the charter of the Star Union. As a result of the discussions, "and change the organization's motto and the organization name from Star Union to Kongra Star.

Kongra Star is now preparing to hold its second conference after a change of name, which will discuss and evaluate the work of kongra Star within two years. In this context, the reporter of Hawar news agency met with the official spokesperson of Kongra Star, Avîn Suwaid, to talk about how preparations for the second conference who said. "As we know, the first conference of Kongra Star was held on February 25-26, 2016. The decision to hold the conference was taken every two years, but this year the date of the conference was postponed because of the situation which took place in Afrin and the Turkish aggression on it."

She noted that the current preparatory steps for the conferences and the conference are to be held through meetings in all cities and towns in the three regions, where the work of the Kongra Star will be debated within two years and what difficulties they have experienced, the developments and successes of the Kongra, , and share the experiences that women have undergone in order to develop their work so that women become more powerful and determined in their revolution, in addition to the selection of administrators who will participate in the Conference where meetings are currently held in all cities, towns and districts, representatives of each region to participate in conferences and then in the general conference.

She pointed out that these meetings will continue until the end of July to move to the preparation of the conference and set the date in each region. After the conclusion of the conferences' contract, the second general conference will be scheduled. In which it will read the charter of Kongra Star in the three regions of Afrin, al-Jazeera and the Euphrates, and evaluate and approve the work and debate on the new charter of Kongra Star.

She concluded by saying that all the women in Kongra Star pledged that they would come together and do their best to develop their businesses in all fields, protect their land and people and step up the struggle for the freedom of all women and follow the path and ideology of the Democratic nation's leader Abdullah Ocalan.
