Barzani’s exciting statements: Turkish occupation of Başûr is legitimate

The President of the Kurdistan Region’s government issued exiting statements about the Turkish occupation of Başûr (South Kurdistan), and described PKK as the occupier, and Barzani considered that the Turkish state's massacres against the Kurdish people to be legitimate.

In exiting statements of the President of the Kurdistan Region’s government, Nechirvan Barzani justified the Turkish occupation of the region’s lands, Barzani who ignored the presence of 21 Turkish military bases described PKK as the occupier.

'We want to strengthen our relations with the Turkish state'

Nechirvan Barzani ignored the Turkish occupation of Kurdistan Region’s territories and said, "We reject the use of the territories of Kurdistan Region to attack Turkey or Iran."

Barzani also ignored the fact that PKK is a Kurdish Movement and said, "We have frequently asked the opposition groups and PKK not to launch their attacks from within Başûr."

Barzani did not object to the killing of civilians as a result of the attacks launched by the Turkish army on Başûr Kurdistan, and he only said, "We have concerns."

Barzani spoke as Erdogan, accused PKK

Barzani, during his statement, ignored many facts, and spoke as Erdogan and the occupiers saying, "PKK occupied a large part of the territories of Başûr Kurdistan, and from there, it launches attacks on Turkey. We oppose that, and we oppose the attacks launched from the territories of Kurdistan Region against Turkey."

Although the Turkish state has been building military bases in Başûr Kurdistan for years, and despite the popular opposition, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Barzani family never talked about the issue of the Turkish occupation. The Turkish army has been launching attacks against the territories of Başûr Kurdistan and killing hundreds of civilians for many years, while KDP remained silent and supported the Turkish army in the battles against PKK.

KDP stands beside the occupiers

In the midst of the Third World War that is witnessed in the Middle East, the Kurdish people, especially in Rojava, were able to achieve many gains and found the opportunity to unite their divided homeland. However, the Turkish state made efforts to eliminate this opportunity. During this counter-war waged by Turkey against the Kurdish people, PDK stood beside the Turkish state.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation army launched military attacks against the areas of Başûr Kurdistan from Bradust towards QandÎl areas.
