Al-Raqqa Martyrs Shrine embraced martyr Khalid al-Alewi’s corpse

Hundreds of people from al-Raqqa city and its countryside bid farewell the corpse of the martyr Khalid whose real name is Khalid al-Alewi, a fighter in the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who martyred during performing his military duty to his last resting place in Martyrs Shrine in al-Hekomiah village.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the military and civilian institutions in al-Raqqa. After receiving the corpse of the martyr, the mourners headed with the convoy of dozens of cars towards the Martyrs Shrine in al-Hekomiah village north of al-Raqqa.

The ceremony began with performing a military parade by the Syrian Democratic Forces. The colonel of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Ali Hijo delivered a speech in which he said, "There is no word that can describe the martyr. The martyr is a candle that burns for others to live freely and with dignity and the sun that rises if the darkness of deprivation and oppression fell."

Then, the member of the Martyrs' Families Council Shamsa al-Saleh said, "The martyrs are the torch of society and its inspiration for freedom and peace. All the gains that are being made today in our areas are by virtue of their sacrifice."

Then, the martyr Khalid's document was read by the council of Martyrs' Families and handed over to his family amid chanting the slogans that salute SDF's resistance.
