Al-Tabqa's Peoples' Municipality working to repair garden irrigation systems

The pump came out of its work after being subjected to subversive acts by "IS mercenaries" like other facilities before they were driven from the city by the Syrian Democratic Forces on 10 May 2017.

The main irrigation water pump is located in the northwestern corner of al-Tabqa city, near al-Tabqa's National Hospital on the right bank of the lake, which is estimated to have a capacity of 16 inches.

The work carried out by the Environment Department of the pump is the delivery of electricity to the pump feeder and the re-welding of the main pipes entering and leaving the pump in addition to the maintenance of part of the electric panel.

"The pump will feed the irrigation network distributed on the National Hospital Park, the General Cultural Center Park and the Eastern Water Tank, as well as its role in increasing the water pressure towards the western parts of the third neighborhood of the city," said Jamal Abdel Latif, the Co-chair of the Environment Department at al-Tabqa's Peoples' Municipality.

The Cultural Center Park extends 2 km in the second neighborhood and is a destination for the majority of the population, especially on public holidays.

The station's maintenance will contribute to the irrigation of a number of parks within al-Tabqa city, which will increase the greenery areas that the people can visit, especially with the advent of summer.

The pump is expected to be operational within the next two weeks after the remaining maintenance is completed.
