Women's Bureau of the Civil Council has a prominent role in the organization

Al-Raqqa city has been liberated by Sacrifices of Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) fighters on 20 October, after Islamic State's gangs dominated the city for 4 years, the women suffered a lot and now are starting new steps to build new life and breaking restrictions imposed by (IS) gangs under name of religion.

With the first organizational steps of al-Raqqa Civil Council, al-Raqqa's women took their place in the Council to return their role marginalized by mercenaries and continued their struggle to become founders and politicians in joint steps with men.

Formation of communes and opening of academies is the first organizational step

After the transfer of al-Raqqa Civil Council to the city, the members of the Women’s Committee in the Council organized themselves through the formation of communes, where it formed 14 women's communes in al-Mashlab neighborhood while still in the other neighborhoods are under formation, and in the countryside of al-Raqqa formed 10 communes.

Seeking to train and educate women and young women of al-Raqqa and rural areas to get rid of the ideas imposed by Islamic State’s gangs on their minds. Women's committees worked on the opening of the Syrian Women's Academy in north al-Raqqa, and three training courses were graduated.

In addition, with the formation of the councils, there was a need for a role for women alongside men. Therefore, 17 committees were formed, including the Committee on Social Justice and Reconciliation, the Health Committee, the Culture and Art Committee, the Pedagogy Committee, the Antiquities Committee and the Committee of Organizations in each committee there is a female presence.

At the same time, the Women's Council was formed in countryside of al-Khattounia, located on the western outskirts of al-Raqqa city in addition to the opening of women's offices within the local councils there.

Since the liberation and the opening of women's associations in most of the regions, 400 cases have been resolved, of which 350 cases have been resolved in coordination with the Reconciliation and Social Justice Committee. The other 50 cases have been complicated, so they have been transferred to the Social Justice Committee in al-Karama area and Kobani canton.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with the Co-chair of the Office of women in al-Raqqa Civil Council Fayrouz Khalil talking about the women's role and councils were formed said that "With liberation al-Raqqa city and with the construction of the first tent we were next to the woman and we supported her to cover her needs and organize women through the communes, committees and the council."

Establishment of projects... Women need to provide jobs

In the economic field, plans are being considered to work on the processing and opening of sewing workshops in addition to the opening of food factories of all kinds in the search for employment opportunities for widowed women who suffer from difficult economic conditions.

In the field of agriculture, women's committees have worked in coordination with agriculture committees in al-Raqqa city and rural areas to establish agricultural projects, including green houses.

In addition, in order to consolidate the role of working women and contribute to the claim for their rights in exchange for work and to solve the problems they suffer, the Women Committee in Agriculture will be formed.

In the end, the official in the Office of al-Raqqa Civil Council Fayrouz Khalil, called on all women to prove their role in society and to rid themselves and their companions of slavery and take their role in women's councils to express their opinion.
