Rains turned refugees’ night into nightmare

The heavy rains that various parts of Syria witnessed have led to forming floods and torrents that have drowned the homes in many areas. The displaced people living in camps may be the most affected by the floods and torrents as is the case of the refugees in the camps of Manbij.

The eastern camp in Rassem al-Akhdar village east of Manbij city was flooded by torrential rains. The water was leaked into the tents, causing damage to bedding, supplies and other materials which increased the suffering of the displaced.

Many of the displaced people who spoke to Hawar news agency confirmed that the rainstorm affected the camp and led to flooding of flood waters into the tents and destroying their supplies, clothing and mattresses. The rainwater also destroyed some tents.

The People appealed to international organizations to help the displaced people who have been affected by the floods and torrents.

For its part, the camp’s administration said that the camp’s administrators provided assistances to the displaced within the limits and possibilities available.

The camp’s administrator Imam Mustafa also confirmed that most of the displaced people's tents were damaged by the rainstorm and the supplies were also damaged.

Mustafa appealed to international organizations to provide assistances to the displaced people.
