Ramadan month approaching...how it will be situation to refugee in the camp?

In general, Muslims receive the holy month of Ramadan every year, hoping for forgiveness, but the situation is different for the refugees in Ain Issa camp.

About 13, 000 refugees are living in Ain Issa camp near to the center of Ain Issa district is located in north of al-Raqqa city , people who have fled from the areas dominated by the Baathist regime and other Syrian areas.

Perhaps the availability of cold water is what preoccupies the fasting person first, who is waiting for long hours to drink a glass of water in Ramadan month.

Although many of the water tanks spread in the camp, but placed under the hot sun during the summer but due to its heat, the water is not drinkable by the Iftar time

They do not protect the tents from the sun, or reduce heat. They increase the heat because they are made of nylon or cotton, forcing people to leave their tents in the afternoon due to heat, and sit in the dark due to extreme heat and high temperatures, in light of the lack of electricity inside the camp.

Many organizations that have not been willing to provide what they need during the summer as refrigeration or other essential assistance during Ramadan are working in the camp.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) explored views the refugees in Ain Issa camp to see the situation of the displaced a few days before the advent of Ramadan.

Abeer al-Hussien from al-Bu-Kamal said "In the hot weather and a lot of international organization do not move till now to help us and we have no capabilities ,how can we fast in Ramadan."

Another refugee from al-Raqqa city Ahmed al-Hamoud said "Ramadan month is approaching us and the temperature is also increasing "We suffered the previous month from increasing heat, so fasting this year will be very difficult, especially since our tents do not protect the sun and cold water not available."

Abeer and Ahmed called on humanitarian organizations and concerned parties to provide assistance to them during Ramadan month, by providing means of cooling, and to provide baskets of food to help them, especially with the inability of the fasting person to work during Ramadan".

The administrator Jalal al-Ayyaf called on the organizations and authorities to help thousands of displaced people in the camp during Ramadan month, while dozens of organizations currently supposed to assist the displaced still stick to its inaction.

Ayaf noted that they will provide cold water to the camp residents during Ramadan month, he added" We have been able to provide the people of the camp with frozen water by contracting with the owner of the ice factory in Ain Issa, selling ice molds at nominal prices to the people."
