Torrential rains flooded Tel Hamis villages, destroyed bridges

The floods, which were formed in the result of the heavy rains, drowned 8 villages south of Tel Hamis district, and the bridges between al-Hol, Tel Koçer and al-Shaddadi districts were also destroyed.

The floods that hit the area between Deir ez-Zor and al-Hasakah and even Tel Hamis, due to the heavy rains, caused the drowning of some of the southern villages of Tel Hamis district and inflicted financial damage to the properties of the residents.

The villages that were affected by the floods are Hariset al-Red, al-Qairawan, Iskenderun, al-Taif, Okaz Gharbi, Palestine, Balqis, Abo Jeren and Jeser Jazaa al-Shimali.

The floods also led to cutting Daeibel Bridge which connects al-Hol district with al-Shaddadi district in al-Hasakah city.

The residents were forced to leave their homes as a result of the water leaking into them and forming ponds of water, so they would stay the whole night in the wilderness, while the floods destroyed the bridges between al-Hol, Tel Koçer and al-Shaddadi districts.

The residents appealed to the concerned authorities to compensate them for the damage that inflicted to their homes, provisions and livestock.
