European MP: Women manage all life aspects, here lies difference in Rojava experience

A British women's delegation visits Rojava and North Syria, with the aim of getting a closer look at administration experience and the women's role in Rojava and North Syria.

Hawar news agency met with European Parliament’s member Julia Ward, who entered Rojava on Monday with the British women's delegation.

"I knew about Rojava revolution and the role of women in it through my activities in a British organization interested in peace in Kurdistan, there are dozens of women in the organization and through them, I know how important the women's movement is in Rojava and North Syria, so I was eager to come here to see what the woman has done here and how she can change the community and revolution here, and added, "I'm very excited about being here in Rojava, and I have friends of Kurdish women here," she said.

"In fact, the whole world is talking about the courage of Kurdish woman, I am a European parliamentarian interested in gender equality, I am interested in women's rights, I always call for freedom and extended rights of women," said Julia Ward of women's resistance in Rojava and North Syria against terrorism. And the echo of resistance in the world, I have heard a lot about the role of women in Rojava in the fight against terrorism."

"It's very exciting to get to know the management model here, the way I do, or let me call it the woman model," said Julia Ward. "This experience is unique and is not found anywhere else in the world."

"I think that women have made very great achievements here in Rojava, especially in the area of ​​addressing violence against women, in fact, I work with women's movements and associations of the European Union," said Julia Ward, who spoke about women's role and achievements in Rojava and North Syria. The situation here is different: in Rojava, women defend themselves and have their own special forces, women defend their position and gain their rights to equality. The situation is quite different here, women manage all aspects of life, including the armed struggle, here lies only a difference in the experience of Rojava for me, and that's why I came here. "

"Europe needs to change its policy towards Rojava," said Julia Ward. "It is important to support this unique experience in the Middle East and the world, the work that is being done here is very important, we have to transfer this message to the world.

"In general, the European position is renewed, especially in this period, the issue of minority rights and the struggle for women's rights are important issues for European society, and I think Europe will be more open to Rojava and the administration here," concluded Julia Ward.
