The Turkish mercenaries have kidnapped a young man from Basouta village and released him a few days ago after a ransom payment by his family. The young man called on the residents not to return to Afrin at the moment.

The young man Safkan Khalil from Basouta village, 23 years old. His family managed to get out of Afrin, after the intensive shelling on the area by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries, but Safkan could not leave.

He was abducted by mercenaries of al-Hamzat Brigade and was detained for 40 days in Bulbul district center, during which he received all kinds of psychological and physical torture.

After being tortured, the mercenaries contacted with Safkan family to set conditions for the release, and asked the family for $ 200,000 initially.

The mercenaries of al-Hamzat Brigade threatened the family to kill Safkan if they did not pay the money by sending them a picture.

When mercenaries learned that his family was poor and could not pay $ 200,000, the mercenaries reduced the money to $ 12,000.

After the family sent the money to the mercenaries, by gathering it from relatives, they released Safkan, where they took him to Kurzila village in Sherawa district, and left him, and from there he managed to leave the areas occupied by the Turkish occupation army on foot, although his feet were injured as a result of the mercenaries' torture for him.

Now Safkan lives with his family in al-Shahba canton. ANHA correspondent was able to access and interview him.

"I was subjected to various kinds of torture in a brutal manner. My hands and shoulders were tied with iron chains, they hung me on the roof of the cell for long hours every day, they gave us a small piece of bread and a small cup of water every some time," he said."

In more detail, Safkan said that when he came from Kurzila village, he encountered many corpses. "I think these corpses were for civilians who were assassinated by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries," he said.

Finally, Safkan Khalil appealed to the people of Afrin to protect themselves from the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries and not to return to Afrin at the present time, describing the situation as dangerous.
