Her age 105 and continues to practice manual carpeting

The mother whose name is  GhazaaAli Al Mutlaq, who is about 105 years old, lives in the south of Tirbe Sipi district in Hasso Rattla Ghazala has more than 100 children and grandchildren. She has a hand-woven carpet industry that she inherited from her mother since she lived in her youth.

This handicraft is rare in al-Jazeera region , as it requires effort and fatigue during the process of weaving, in addition to the dependence of the people on finished products

Before the start of the carpet manufacturing process Ghazala spinning the wool and turning it into thick threads through a tool called the Dok "Che" and Mabram, using simple tools during the manufacturing process, which is the placement of two pieces of wood on the upper and lower sides, and then connect the threads and begin with the individual, By a stick called Masad, then tightened by the horn of a deer.

After that process, Ghazala cuts off the excess threads and ties the threads to make the carpets ready for use.

Ghazala says that through her craft she managed to equip her children's homes with carpets and other household items. Ghazala does not care about the material value of her products as much as she cares about their high quality, as it symbolizes the heritage and authenticity of the Arab and Kurdish heritage.

Ghazala, although over a century old, makes other tools such as prayer mats, hair houses and decorative objects attached to the walls of houses.

Ghazala  pointed out that she has been practicing this craft for 80 years and produces one carpet every three days, and says that thanks to her continued work she has maintained her health.
