looting increased in in Afrin, people being threatened

A video shows a number of Turkish mercenaries who are related to a faction called Abu Saddam among the mercenaries of al-Hamzat gang are robbing and looting the contents of a civilian's house in Mahmoudiya neighborhood in Afrin city.

The video, that was filmed by an activist on April 15, 2018 could not be published till the day before, shows that mercenaries were looting the contents of a Kurdish citizen's home in the daylight and hearing in the background the sounds of songs that came from the mercenaries’ vehicle.

Some of the pages reported that looting operations are taking place in the daylight in Afrin, and that these operations moved from the stage of theft of small things to everything that fall under their hands of furniture, home, kitchen and others.

One source pointed out that the people do not dare to disclose these violations because of the state of terror and fear as a result of the inhuman practices of the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation in Afrin and that are ongoing without account.

Some sources confirmed that the thefts increased after the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries announced their intention to seize the stolen things and restore them to their owners. However, on the contrary, the thefts increased and nothing was returned back to the people, pointing out that they are being threatened if they would require regaining their stolen properties.

Some sources pointed out that the statements of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries were only to show themselves to the public opinion that they protect the civilians and their properties, but in fact, they contributed to the increase of such cases.
