Refugee from Adlib: Afrin was destination for safety seekers

The Arab citizen Bassam Abdel Razzaq from Telada belonging to Adlib province was displaced with his family of 10 members to Afrin canton 5 years ago and settled in Diwa village belonging to Janders area searching of security and stability, having fled from brutal practices of(Jabhit al-Nusra /al-Nusra Front) gangs.

Abdul Razak spent 5 years in Diwa village with his family and worked in agriculture by renting land and planting vegetables, as well as raising livestock and selling their products.

Abdel Razzaq was forced to flee again and leave with his family from Diwa during the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its gangs on Afrin canton, they headed towards to al-Shahba with the rest of Afrin and left behind all their properties to escape the Turkish massacres this time.

Abd al-Razzaq was only able to take out 100 heads of his livestock and leave more than half of the number in Diwa village due to the severity of the shelling on the village and its surroundings during the Turkish aggression.

Bassam Abdul Razzaq currently lives in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton with his nephews in one tent. In al-Shahba, he also rented 3 hectares of barley land for a total of 600,000 S.P in order for his sheep to graze, because of the lack of pastures in al-Shahba, unlike Afrin.

Every morning, sheep are milked, and cheese is made for sale in the neighborhood market to secure his family's livelihood.

Bassam 'Abd al-Razzaq said that after they have left Afrin, he suffered heavy seasonal agricultural losses and that they could not take out all their cattle with them, noting that their situation is very poor. They rent farmland to graze the sheep for the lack of pastures unlike Afrin where he found comfort and safety only in Afrin canton during the past five years, hoping that Afrin will be freed from the Turkish occupation and its gangs to return to it.
