Afrin residents: as long as Turkish fascism’s flag raised in Afrin, we will not return

During an interview conducted by Hawar news agency ANHA with the people of Afrin about their return to their homes, they stressed that there is no return to them as long as there are occupying forces raising the flag of Turkish fascism in Afrin.

Mustafa Ahmed said: "Our return is linked to honor and dignity, so we will not return as long as the flag of fascism is fluttering in the skies of our city and the occupying forces are there, and we will return only when our forces receive us with pride after liberation from the abomination of occupation."

"Turkish occupation and its mercenaries have destroyed our homes, treated the civilians badly and committed abuses against them, we were forced to leave our land to preserve children and our safety and dignity, we cannot return as long as the mercenaries and Turkish occupation remain in Afrin because the lives of civilians are at risk, if we want to return to Afrin under their control, we would not leave it, we are waiting for our forces to liberate Afrin to get back with pride.

"We are a people who demand peace, and our children have made a lot of sacrifices for that, we hope to liberate Afrin and return to it, but let all the countries that have remained silent about the crimes of Turkish occupation army know," she said. We will not return to Afrin now because our lives will be in danger and no one can guarantee our safety and preserve our dignity under the control of the occupiers and mercenaries, so we will accept to live only in liberated Afrin. Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on 20 January of this year launched large-scale attacks that led to the martyrdom of hundreds of civilians and wounding others, not to mention the massacres of civilians, the people of Afrin were forced to leave for fear of committing massacres against them, and headed to al-Shahba canton.
