10 years since foundation of Bet Al-Nahraen Women's Forces

Today, Saturday (August 30), the Bet Al-Nahraen Women's Forces celebrates the 10th anniversary of its founding as the first Syriac women's force in North and East Syria. The force was established in 2015 in the village of Rutan, located in the city of Tirbespiye in the Jazera Canton of North and East Syria.

These forces were founded with the participation of approximately 60 young Syriac women from various regions of the Jazera Canton, challenging societal restrictions and affirming women's ability to bear arms and protect their people and land from any threats or attacks.

Over the course of ten years, the forces played a pivotal role in training female fighters and shaping their personalities through military and intellectual courses, enhancing their readiness to face various challenges.

On the military front, these forces have participated in numerous military campaigns alongside the Syriac Military Council and the Syrian Democratic Forces, including the campaigns in al-Hol, al-Shaddadi, Raqqa, and Baghouz against ISIS mercenaries. They also repelled Turkish occupation attacks on Afrin, Manbij, Hasaka, and Tal Tamr.

The forces have a prominent presence in protecting churches and places of worship, in addition to their contribution to confront ISIS mercenaries. They have made great sacrifices, including martyrs and wounded, in defense of their land and people.

To celebrate this occasion, the forces are organizing a celebratory event this evening at 6:00 PM at the Pardis Stadium in the city of Qamishli in the Jazera Canton, with widespread participation.

A decade after its founding, the Bet Al-Nahraen Women's Protection Forces continue to demonstrate their pioneering role in defending the Syriac people and women.
