Zeynab Jalalian's health declines amid hospital transfer denial 

A report by the Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners website stated that the health condition of the Kurdish political prisoner Zeynab Jalalian is poor, and she has been denied her right to medical treatment. It noted that Zeynab Jalalian has been imprisoned for 18 years and suffers from diseases affecting her eyes, kidneys, and intestines.

According to previous medical examinations, she requires surgical intervention, yet she has repeatedly been subjected to torture and humiliation by the Yazd Prison authorities in Iran.

It is worth mentioning that Zeynab Jalalian was born in 1982 in the city of Maku in Urmia province, East Kurdistan. She was arrested in Kermanshah in 2007 without a judicial warrant and was sentenced to death on charges of “attempting to disrupt national security and waging war against religion,” before her sentence was reduced to life imprisonment during the appeals process.

In a related context, reports indicated that the administration of Evin Prison in Tehran also refused to transfer activist Warisha Moradi to the hospital, despite the deterioration of her health and doctors’ confirmation of her urgent need for surgery.

Warisha Moradi, who is sentenced to death, suffers from femur bone diseases and brain problems, which increase the severity of her condition and highlight the repeated medical neglect faced by female political prisoners in Iranian prisons.
