YPJ: Saleh Muslim represents standard of true patriotism

The General Command of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) offered its deepest condolences to the family of the late politician Salih Muslim, a member of the Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and to all the people of the region, emphasizing that he dedicated every moment of his life to serving his people with great devotion.

In a statement issued today, Thursday, the YPJ said: "The politician, patriot, and defender of his people's rights, Salih Muslim, has passed away. This is a very sad day for us. We extend our heartfelt condolences, especially to the family of Mr. Salih Muslim, and to all our patriotic people."

For us, Salih Muslim's character has become the epitome of true patriotism; he dedicated every moment of his life to serving his people with immense selflessness. He made significant contributions to the Rojava Revolution, guiding his community with the ideas of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, leaving behind a legacy of profound struggle.

From the early years of the Kurdish freedom struggle until his passing, he remained steadfast and self-sacrificing in his commitment to achieving a free life.

He participated in the freedom struggle alongside his entire family, and his intellectual stature and political approach earned him a distinguished position within his community. He possessed a high level of knowledge in managing society on both political and social levels, and he offered insightful and comprehensive analyses of regional politics.

He fulfilled the duties of a free man in all spheres and never compromised on the freedom of his people. He held important roles within the Rojava Revolution; as much as he was a politician, he was a patriot, and a father to martyrs and fighters. He was, in his entirety, the voice of truth for his people.

The statement emphasized that "the courage and stances of the politician Salih Muslim will remain a standard for the struggle for a free and dignified life, and for achieving democracy and the freedom of the people. He also demonstrated, in his life, a profound respect for women's freedom and was a true comrade to women."

The statement concluded: "We in the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) consider realizing the dreams of the martyrs, embodied by the fighter Salih Muslim, our primary mission. His life and struggle will forever remain in our hearts and memories."

Salih Muslim shaped his character with the thought and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and especially in recent times, despite his health condition, he never ceased working for the freedom of his people, remaining ever-present within the community.
