Worker martyred by ISIS attack in western Deir ez-Zor countryside

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in a statement published by the SDF's media center, revealed the martyrdom of a worker in an attack carried out by ISIS mercenary cells on a vehicle belonging to the Civil Council in the town of Muhaimidah in the western Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The statement read: "In a treacherous terrorist operation that took place on Tuesday, an ISIS cell targeted a vehicle belonging to the Civil Council in the town of Muhaimidah. Two terrorists riding a motorcycle opened fire with machine guns at the vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of one of the civilian workers. The cell managed to escape."

The SDF confirmed that its units, in coordination with the Internal Security Forces, had begun extensive combing operations in the area to pursue the mercenaries.

The statement concluded by stressing that "our forces are continuing to pursue the remnants of the terrorist ISIS organization and will not hesitate to strike anyone who attempts to undermine the security and stability of the region."
