Women of Zenobia Gathering, K S.tar condemn attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud -Ashrafieh

The Women of Zenobia Council in Tabqa issued a statement addressing the recent attacks by the Syrian Transitional Government forces on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, coinciding with strikes on Deir Hafer, west of Tabqa. The statement, delivered by council member Alaa Mohammed in front of their building, condemned the unjustified attacks targeting civilians including women, children, and peaceful families and described them as gross violations of human rights and humanitarian values.

The statement highlighted that these attacks perpetuate exclusion, division, racism, and marginalization instead of fostering Syrian unity through dialogue and understanding. It called on all Syrian democratic forces, civil society organizations, and international human rights bodies to intervene urgently to stop the violence, protect civilians, and prevent further escalation.

The council stressed that the only way out of Syria’s crisis is constructive national dialogue, genuine democratic participation, and guaranteeing justice and equality for all citizens without discrimination.

Deir ez-Zor

The Women of Zenobia Gathering in Deir ez-Zor condemned the siege and oppressive measures against Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, calling them attacks on civilians and a blow to social peace. Administrative member Sanaa Ramadan described these neighborhoods as longstanding models of coexistence, dignity, and civil resistance, warning that the siege aims to break the will of a peaceful community determined to preserve its freedom.

The statement characterized the ongoing actions as attempts to revive authoritarian exclusion and expressed full support for the neighborhoods’ residents, rejecting all forms of siege and collective punishment. It called for reasoned dialogue and respect for civil society’s will, concluding that the voice of the Women of Zenobia will remain loud against injustice and authoritarianism, committed to life, freedom, and human dignity.

Qamishlo

Kongra Star in al-Jazira canton issued a statement delivered by member Berivan Khalid at the Muhammad Sheikh U Cultural Center, with broad participation from women’s movements and members of Kongra Star.

The statement described the attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh as assaults on the Democratic Nation project these neighborhoods represent—a model of free and shared life among diverse communities. It condemned the attacks as desperate attempts to crush the will of free peoples.

The statement called on international powers and human rights organizations to intervene immediately and confront these aggressive practices. It affirmed that no one can break the will of a people who have foiled conspiracies through their persistence, emphasizing that this mindset holds no hope for Syrians and will not build a democratic, pluralistic, and decentralized Syria.
