The Popular Initiative in Qamishlo issued a bilingual statement (Arabic and Kurdish) read in front of Afrin Square, with participation from residents, displaced persons from Afrin and Shabha, students, and local institutions. The statement condemned the illegal attacks by Transitional Government forces on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh and highlighted that these assaults contradict ongoing discussions on national dialogue and democratic transition. It saluted the resistance of the neighborhoods and affirmed the community’s right to defend their dignity and freedom in line with humanitarian principles and international charters.

Amuda

Residents and displaced persons from Afrin and Shabha in Amuda issued a bilingual statement condemning attacks by Transitional Government-affiliated groups loyal to Turkey. They emphasized these attacks violate the rights of forcibly displaced people from Afrin and Shabha, who continue to suffer injustice and violations. The statement called on all free Syrians and democratic forces to stand in solidarity with the residents and urged international organizations to halt the Transitional Government’s racist policies.

Tirbe Spiye

The Tirbe Spiye City Council issued a statement calling on all honorable Syrians to support the people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, unite against fragmentation and sectarian strife, and affirming that peace and democratic solutions are the only way out of the crisis. The statement warned that targeting civilians and safe areas only deepens destruction and social fabric disintegration and called for intensified local and international efforts to protect civilians and restore political dialogue.

Hasakah

The Al-Hasakah City Council condemned the attacks by Transitional Government forces on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh during a gathering attended by local leaders. The statement accused the Damascus interim authority of mobilizing forces to create chaos under Turkish threats and local proxies. It described the siege as a blatant violation of international agreements and called on all Syrian components to reject aggression, warning of repeats of violence seen in Sweida and the Syrian coast. It affirmed the steadfastness of North and East Syria’s peoples against threats and efforts to destabilize the region.

Al-Hol

In Al-Hol, dozens gathered before the Democratic Union Party building, where a statement was delivered condemning the Transitional Government’s delays in implementing agreements, particularly the April 1 deal between the local councils and the Transitional Government. The statement highlighted imposed sieges, attacks on civilians, and praised the resistance of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh residents against Turkish-backed mercenaries and Baathist groups. It urged Syrians to act wisely to preserve social cohesion and national unity.

Kobani

Civil institutions and political parties in Kobani issued a statement calling on all Syrian communities Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Assyrians, Turkmen, and democratic forces to unite and protect Syrian lives. They demanded urgent international action to stop escalation, condemn attacks, ensure humanitarian aid access, and pressure armed factions to disarm immediately. The statement urged the Transitional Government to cease aggression, return to the March 10 agreement, and engage in genuine national dialogue for just political solutions. It stressed that real responses lie in strengthening civil and political efforts, local governance, protection, and reconciliation initiatives, not continued violence.

Tal Hamis

The Tal Hamis City Council condemned the attacks on Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and other civilian areas, highlighting civilian casualties. The statement denounced the disregard of the March 10 agreement and warned against repeating past massacres in the coast and Sweida. It expressed full support for the Syrian Democratic Forces and the neighborhoods’ residents and vowed to confront any attempts to destabilize security and coexistence.

Raqqa

The Democratic Autonomous Administration in Raqqa expressed full solidarity with the steadfast residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, urging all relevant parties to immediately lift the siege, allow safe humanitarian access, and stop all attacks to protect civilian lives. The statement called on international and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their ethical and legal responsibilities and stressed that humanity’s voice is stronger than weapons, emphasizing respect and solidarity among all communities as the sole path to just peace and dignified life for Syrians.

Displaced residents from Afrin and Shabha in Raqqa condemned the siege and attacks as blatant violations and affirmed that peace and democratic solutions remain the only way out. They highlighted the neighborhoods’ heroic resistance as proof that Syrians demand freedom and dignity on their land and called on democratic Syrian forces, international organizations, and the global community to stop the Transitional Government’s policies and reopen crossings to prevent slipping into a new civil war like those in Sweida and the Syrian coast.
