Women in Kobani affirm continued struggle to support YPJ

The Kongra Star Council in Kobani organized a march on Sunday as part of its program for International Women's Day (March 8th) in support of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ).

The march launched under the slogan "With the braids of women, the revolution of humanity is protected," at Free Women's Square in Kobani. Hundreds of women participated, including female fighters from the YPJ, members of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), and members of women's movements and organizations.

During the march, flags of the YPJ and the Kongra Star were raised, and participants chanted slogans; "Long live the YPJ resistance! Resistance is life! Women, life, freedom! Long live the Rojava resistance!"

The march then turned into a rally at the Martyr Agid Square, where the participants held a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of freedom.

Arin Kobani, the leader in the Internal Security Forces in Kobani, delivered a speech in which she said: "In the person of the martyrs, we commemorate all the martyrs of freedom, and we bow in respect before their souls. In the person of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), we affirm our existence and our Kurdish identity. All the female fighters continue the struggle without pause. We, the women of Kobani, send our greetings from the stronghold of resistance to the leader Abdullah Ocalan, who guided us to the path of freedom and resistance. We, the Internal Security Forces and the fighters of the Women's Protection Units, will continue the struggle until our legitimate rights are fixed in the Syrian constitution."

Arin Kobani also emphasized that they will continue the struggle to protect the gains of the Rojava Revolution and women's freedom.

The rally concluded with chants of "Resistance is life" and "Long live the YPJ resistance."
