Dialogue is optimal path to resolving Syrian crisis

Today, the Democratic Union Party, in coordination with the councils of the cities of Tel Tamer and Zerghan, organized a public meeting for the residents of the two cities, with the aim of informing them about the latest political developments in the region.

The meeting was held at Kanir Cafeteria in central Tel Tamer, with the participation of dozens of residents from the two cities, members of civil society institutions, representatives of political parties, as well as communes and dignitaries from both cities.

The meeting began with a minute of silence. Then, a member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Sabri Afrin, spoke, saying: “Our region is experiencing sensitive political transformations at this stage, which require from us the highest levels of responsibility and awareness,” noting that their democratic project in the region is a project for all components without exception, and is the guarantor of the unity of society.

Sabri Afrin affirmed that dialogue is the only path toward a comprehensive solution to the Syrian crisis, and that any political settlement must take into account the rights of all components of the people and preserve their free will. He said: “What we have achieved thanks to the sacrifices of the sons and daughters of this region is a solid foundation for building a democratic Syria based on justice, equality, and coexistence.”

He continued: “Strengthening national unity is not merely a political necessity, but a foundation for protecting the identity, rights, and national interests of the Kurdish people. At this sensitive stage, unity and coordination constitute a real force for protecting the homeland and consolidating the democratic experience.”

In conclusion, Sabri Afrin affirmed that they are continuing their political and societal work, stating: “We will continue to defend the rights of our people and enhance the role of women and youth, toward a future worthy of everyone’s sacrifices.”

The meeting concluded with responses to the attendees’ questions and inquiries regarding the developments taking place in the region.
