The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has notified the World Food Programme (WFP) and other partners to terminate contracts for some of the "last remaining life-saving humanitarian programs across the Middle East," according to a U.S. official and a United Nations official who spoke to the Associated Press.

A representative from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) said that around 60 contract termination notices were sent over the past week, including for major projects with the WFP, the world’s largest provider of food aid.
