Waşukanî camp’s women demand physical freedom for leader Ocalan

The Women's Council at the Waşukani camp for IDPs from the occupied city of Sere Kaniye, in the city of Hasaka in the Jazera Canton, issued a public statement regarding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The statement was read before the camp council by Hayat Sheikhi, a member of the Women's Committee, in the presence of dozens of women from the camp and members of the Women's Committee, who held up a picture of the leader.

The statement emphasized that the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan means the freedom and dignity of peoples, considering that the leader represents a symbol of struggle, freedom, and justice for all who seek to live with dignity and equality.

The statement explained that the continued torture and genocide against the leader is an attempt to break the spirit of resistance and freedom, adding: "However, the leader's strong will and free thought are becoming more widespread and influential day by day."

The statement called on the international community, and all human rights powers and organizations, to take urgent and serious action to end the isolation and achieve the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, to achieve justice and ensure true peace.

The statement emphasized that women believe that the leader's ideology is the foundation for the liberation of women and society, pledging to continue the struggle until his freedom, which is a freedom for all women, is achieved.

The statement concluded with chants calling for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom."
