According to CENTCOM, the operation, conducted on Friday, underscores the United States' ongoing commitment—working in coordination with regional partners—to counter terrorist threats and prevent extremist groups from carrying out attacks targeting civilians, U.S. forces, and allies in the region and beyond.

In this context, CENTCOM Commander General Michael Erik Kurilla emphasized that the United States remains resolute in its efforts to track and eliminate terrorist threats wherever they emerge, ensuring national security and the protection of its partners and allies.

Notably, on Sunday, CENTCOM executed another precision airstrike in northwest Syria, targeting and eliminating a senior operative affiliated with an al-Qaeda branch.
