For over two months, residents of North and East Syria have taken turns organizing demonstrations at Tishrin Dam to prevent its collapse due to repeated attacks by Turkish occupation forces and their allied mercenaries.

Various components in the Derik  have agreed that the collective participation of all societal groups in these demonstrations serves as a powerful force in safeguarding the broader region.

Citizen Gulistan Ahmed highlighted that the inclusive nature of the protests at Tishrin Dam represents a unique historical resistance. She stated, "The people's mobilization in support of Tishrin Dam and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) is a sacred victory for all communities and will be recorded as a defining moment in history."

She further asserted that, "The resistance at Tishrin Dam has reshaped the balance of power across the Middle East, not just in Syria. Unlike traditional armed resistance, today’s peaceful civilian mobilization has emerged as a formidable weapon against the Turkish occupation forces and their gangs."

Similarly, citizen Kulshat Ali stated, "Our strength is derived from the resistance of the SDF, and we must protect Tishrin Dam because it symbolizes our existence in North and East Syria. This resistance is our victory and the path toward achieving security and peace for all peoples."

Meanwhile, citizen Issam Rasoul emphasized that "The popular resistance at Tishrin Dam is a means to safeguard the region and establish peace. It has also embodied the philosophy of  leader Abdullah Ocalan, which advocates for a democratic nation built on the brotherhood of peoples."

He added, "At Tishrin Dam, we see a living example of this philosophy through the collective resistance against the aggression of the Turkish occupation forces and their militias."

Rasoul concluded by stating, "These peaceful protests demonstrate our unwavering determination as the people of this region to defend our existence and our hard-won achievements. Even without weapons, the people's resistance remains a powerful force against aggression."
