Unified Position Committee awaits Kurdish National Council response

Kurdish parties, organizations, institutions, and leaders in Rojava Kurdistan have been working since last November to establish a unified Kurdish perspective and outline the national strategy.

Parties connected to the Kurdish National Council and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan were among the many parties, organizations, and individuals with whom the committee that was formed to prepare for this conference met during this time.

As a result of such meetings, the announcement of 33 parties' adherence and participation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc, in addition to many other parties, was declared. Up till now, the Kurdish National Council has not responded with either a yes or no answer.

 The Preparatory Committee intended to hold a combined meeting on the 16th of this month but postponed it in wait for a response from the Kurdish National Council.

 Meanwhile, the Preparatory Committee has continued its work in this period, which led to the announcement of two other parties joining the unity efforts.

 "We are waiting for the response"

 Abdul-Ilah Arabo, one of the Preparatory Committee's spokespersons, gave us some information about the preparations for the conference and the date of its convening.

 The head, Abdul-Ilah Arabo, has recently said that the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria, the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (Yekiti), a number of intellectuals, and groups who had held independent forums for unity joined them along with the Khobon Movement to join the Preparatory Committee.

 Abdel-Ilah reiterated that they have been willing since the very beginning to include the Kurdish National Council into their structure and held a number of meetings with them, but they still wait for their response so far, and he added: "We are waiting for a response from them to complete our preparatory work."

 Abdul-Ilah Arabo says there were suggestions to call these efforts the conference, but the matter has not yet become clear, noting the continuation of their efforts in this regard.
