The UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria called on the authorities of the transitional government in Syria to publish the fact-finding mission's investigation into the bloody events that took place in the costal region last March, stressing that the investigation's findings should be made public.

The commission stated in a post on the X platform that it "takes note of the report of the Independent National Commission tasked with investigating the events that took place in the Syrian coast last March, which was submitted to the Syrian presidency, and looks forward to the public release of its findings."

In its brief post, the committee emphasized that the recent bloody events in the southern Syrian province of Sweida "highlighted the urgent need for accountability and reform to ensure the protection of civilians," referring to the clashes in Sweida, which included sectarian killings targeting Druze civilians.

Ahmed al-Sharaa previously announced receiving the full report issued by the "Independent National Committee" tasked with investigating the events that took place on the Syrian coast in early March.

According to the Minister of Information of the Syrian Transitional Government, the committee is scheduled to hold a press conference today to discuss its work, but it has not yet been clarified what the conference will include.
